Brunei Darussalam Indonesian Police Chief
Brunei's Monarch, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah recently bestowed a State Decoration on the National Police Chief of the Republic of Indonesia. The ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman. The Indonesian National Police Chief, Drs. Sutanto, was conferred "The Most Gallant Order of Pahlawan Negara Brunei", PSPNB, which carries the title of "Dato Seri Pahlawan".

More tourists are coming to Brunei, thanks to the tourism promotion jointly carried out by the Tourism Department, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, and travel agencies in the region. Local travel agencies have been kept busy with the influx of tourists from ASEAN and the West.

Cambodia Fishing in the Sea
Cambodia has a long coast line of about 435 kilometres. According to a report, between 1993 and 1995, only 25% of the people live along coast, 10% of whom live by fishing while the rest of them do other jobs. According to the Fishery Administration, currently, there are 6,000 boats fishing in the Cambodia Sea; 80% of them are family-owned. With more fishing, the yields from the sea have decreased.

Twenty three couples from poor families have taken part in a mass marriage ceremony. Wearing big smiles, the brides and grooms were sworn in by the priest in front of witnesses.

Indonesia Art of Sintren
Sintren is a traditional dance that is still performed in the village of Pemalang District. It is performed when there's a marriage, among others. What's unique in this Sintren in Pegongsoran Village is that the dancer's eyes are closed while getting into and getting out of the cage, dancing as if there is someone guiding her. The people watching the dance would then throw money to her.

Malaysia National Handicraft Day
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has urged local handicraft entrepreneurs to help expose more young people to the great potential the industry holds for them. The Prime Minister said that besides developing the art, they would also be offering jobs to the many unemployed graduates. He said this when launching National Craft Day 2008 in Kuala Lumpur. To launch the event, Mr Abdullah engraved a piece of silverware.
