Brunei Darussalam celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its National Day on 23rd of February. Brunei Darussalam's 25th National Day celebration climaxed with a mass gathering at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Brunei royalties consented to join the celebration.

Brunei Darussalam has placed itself among the rank of world record setters in the Guinness World Records by setting the largest serving of grilled satay. The achievement was confirmed by the Executive Adjudicator of the Guinness World Records London, Mr. Talal Omar. Not only has the achievement placed Brunei on the world map, the distribution of the satay also shows the sense of caring among certain parties in helping the poor, the orphans and those in need.
