Brunei Darussalam Commemorative Coins
In conjunction with Brunei Darussalam's National Day Silver Jubilee, the Brunei Currency and Monetary Board is issuing commemorative coins of gold, silver and cupronickel. From the total of 600 coins issued, there are 200 gold, 200 silver and 200 cupronickel.

Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah said that the importance of mutual respect for one another and for the culture, traditions and customs of all races and indigenous groups is all the more relevant at this point in time, where world leaders face the stern challenges of achieving peaceful resolutions to a variety of conflicts in the midst of a severe global economic downturn. In this regard, Her Royal Highness added that support should be given to the United Nations's efforts to protect the rights of indigenous peoples and preserve their rich traditions, cultures, languages and history. Her Royal Highness made the remarks while declaring open the Seventh Borneo Global Issues Conference, hosted by the International School, Brunei.
