DVD: Kasal - The Rituals of Philippine Weddings (2009)

This video features three types of wedding rituals in Philippines nowadays; (1) Catholic Wedding - ceremony inherited from Cristian Religion brought by Spanish, (2) Moslem Wedding - ritual based on Islam which is the predominant religion in the Mindanao Region, and (3) Animism Wedding - cremony blessed by spirits from nature and superior beings and being prevalent among the minor groups. The production of this DVD was part of ‘DVD Production of ASEAN Traditional Wedding' - a project by the ASEAN-COCI.

There are seven different ethnic groups in Brunei Darussalam, namely Malay of Brunei, Tutong, Belait, Kedayan, Bisaya, Dusun and Murut. They each have their own customs and traditions which they practive until today, respected and served as guidelines in their daily lives.
This video features traditional wedding ceremony of Brunei Malay ethnic group. The production of this DVD was part of the "DVD Production of ASEAN Traditional Wedding" - a project by the ASEAN-COCI.

DVD: Getting Married Over 12 Days – The Peranakan Wedding (2009)

The Peranakan Chinese wedding lasted twelve days during the late 19th and early 20th century and would observe mainly traditional Chinese practices and values in their weddings. The wedding brings together two families and a male offspring was most hoped for to continue the much-valued family name. Several rituals and rites take place during these twelve days to bless the marriage, and they reflect traditional values prized by the Peranakan Chinese including family loyalty, fertility, poise, respect for one's elders and chastity.
