Synopsis
This book is aimed at presenting a thematic history and development of Southeast Asian Art and thought from a wider, multicultural Asian perspective. It shows art and culture across Southeast Asia drawing from similar and locally distinct mystical and religious beliefs, cultural traditions, aesthetics, myths, cycles of migrations, trade and political change. Also, in the last part, the book discusses how art is used as an instrument in nation building.
